November is Native American Heritage Month and, as a clean beauty brand, we wanted to acknowledge that our industry owes everything to Indigenous wisdom and tradition.
To celebrate Native American Heritage Day, we have highlighted some of our natural ingredients that have roots in Native American herbal tradition.

Echinacea, found in Scalp Therapy, was traditionally used by Native Americans as a remedy for colds, flu, and infections. Echinacea can help promote hair growth by enhancing blood circulation to the scalp. It also has anti-microbial properties that help eliminate dandruff.

The root of the Yucca plant, originally used by the Native American tribes of the southwest, naturally cleanses, deters dandruff, and prevents hair loss. Get Clean, Intense Quench, Just Gel, Lux Locks, and Scalp Therapy all have this ingredient in common!

Sage is found in Everyday Leave-In and Twist Mist. Sage has more than 700 species with their own characteristics. Native Americans used sage as a salve to heal skin sores.
The leaves were also rubbed over teeth and gums to promote dental hygiene. Among its extensive uses, Sage helps stimulate hair growth and can help reduce flaking and itching on the scalp.

Rosemary, found in Swoop Edge Control, was used by Native American tribes to alleviate sore joints, muscle pain, and spasms. Its benefits for hair include helping stimulate hair growth and reducing dry or itchy scalps.
